Studies for Rainbows
[Currently listening to The Beat Generation]
I have been recently inspired by the way Patrick Pound has used a mobile phone camera to capture wonderfully impressionistic styled and purposely ambiguous images. With the notion of using bad, cheap cameras (i.e. not technically advanced, as an SLR, for example) to my advantage, I tested my Mac's in-built camera, spontaneously building upon various source material that was in my close proximity. I attempted to make the source material purposely ambiguous by transforming it into abstract (and almost expressionist) images that are highly colorful.
The following images are a few of those which were made with this idea in mind. I've titled them Studies for Rainbows, as I see these as a precursor to work I'm developing for my multi-medium work tentatively titled Rainbows.
